Schlafly Tap Room
St. Louis's original craft brewery (since 1991) and the home of the legendary St. Louligans pre-match street party. For every CITY SC home game, the Louligans block off the street next to the Tap Room for food trucks, merch tents, live music, and charity fundraising before marching together into Energizer Park. Located steps from the stadium.
About
Schlafly Tap Room is St. Louis's original craft brewery and the spiritual home of the city's soccer supporter culture. Founded on December 26, 1991, after receiving the first microbrewery license in Missouri following a change in state law, the Tap Room sits at 2100 Locust Street in Downtown West, just steps from Energizer Park. What was already a beloved brewery became the epicenter of St. Louis's MLS era when St. Louis CITY SC began play in 2023.
The Louligan Street Block Party
For every CITY SC home match, the street next to the Tap Room, officially designated Louligan Street with a permanent sign, is blocked off for the St. Louligans' pre-match block party. Three hours before kickoff, the scene transforms: the Louligan Tailgate Trailer pumps out music, food trucks line the block, merch tents sell scarves and pins, and supporters raise money for the Charity du Jour. The St. Louligans raised over 60,000 dollars in one season for local organizations including The Trevor Project, Gateway to Hope, Metro Trans Umbrella Group, The Women's Safe House, and SPENSA.
About an hour before kickoff, the Louligans march together from Schlafly into the stadium, a tradition that grew out of the group's founding in 2010 during the Athletic Club St. Louis era. What started with fewer than 100 supporters at Fenton Soccer Park has become an uncountable crowd filling the CITYPARK supporters' section. The march is open to everyone, families and leashed dogs included.
Beer and Atmosphere
Beyond the block party, Schlafly brews a special beer called Supporter's Session specifically for match days, available on tap alongside the full lineup of year-round and seasonal brews. The Tap Room itself occupies a historic building with an industrial-chic brewery atmosphere, exposed brick, copper brewing equipment visible from the dining room, and a menu of elevated pub fare. It is a working brewery first, which gives the pre-match experience an authenticity that purpose-built sports bars cannot replicate.
The St. Louligans Legacy
The St. Louligans, co-founded by Mitch Morice and Brad DeMunbrun, unified approximately seven fragmented supporter groups that had been chanting against each other into a single cohesive organization. Their skull-and-crossbones flag was inspired by FC St. Pauli supporters, representing their independent, community-first ethos. The group's three rules are simple: show up, make noise, have fun. They host a podcast called This is SiLLy and organize an annual New Year's charity soccer match benefiting the St. Louis Area Food Bank. Schlafly Tap Room has been their home base through every chapter of St. Louis professional soccer.
