The Pitch Cincy is a purpose-built soccer bar that opened on May 15, 2021 — one day before FC Cincinnati's first-ever home match at the brand new TQL Stadium directly across the street. Co-owners Keyur Joshi, Kidus Tadele, and Ohm Patel, who previously opened Cobblestone OTR in 2018, signed the lease in November 2020 and transformed the former Metropolitan Baptist Church into an 8,000-square-foot, two-story temple to the beautiful game.
The Video Wall and TV Setup
The centerpiece is a two-story Samsung 4K video wall measuring nine feet wide by seven feet tall — the most impressive single display in any Cincinnati sports bar. Surrounding it are approximately 50 additional televisions spread across both floors, carrying Champions League, MLS Direct Kick, the English Premier League on Peacock, NBA League Pass, NFL Sunday Ticket, and numerous international soccer leagues. When multiple matches overlap, the setup means you never miss a game, and the sheer scale of the video wall makes marquee fixtures feel genuinely immersive.
Design and Atmosphere
Local firm Luminaut designed the interior with soccer woven into every detail. Artificial turf covers the ceiling, echoing the pitch at TQL Stadium visible from the rooftop patio. Patterns throughout the space draw inspiration from FC Cincinnati jerseys and fan apparel. A second-floor scarf wall is dedicated to team memorabilia from clubs around the world, and a separate wall showcases general Cincinnati sports history. The former church architecture — high ceilings, dramatic proportions — gives the space a grandeur that most sports bars cannot match. CityBeat even awarded the astroturf ceiling "Best Astroturf Ceiling" in their 2022 Best Of issue.
Supporter Home Base
The Pitch is the home bar for the Cincy Gooners, Cincinnati's official Arsenal supporters club and a member of Arsenal America. Gooners gather here for every Arsenal match, even when kickoff is 7:45 AM. The Queen City Mafia, another FC Cincinnati supporters group, also uses The Pitch as their pre-match headquarters. On FC Cincinnati home match days, the bar fills with orange and blue before fans make the short walk across Central Parkway to TQL Stadium.
Food, Drink, and Events
The Pitch operates as a bar-only venue with no kitchen — instead, two designated food truck parking spots in the adjacent alley bring in rotating vendors that change regularly. The bar serves craft beers, cocktails on tap, and wine. The stadium-view rooftop patio has become one of the most coveted spots in the neighborhood on match days, offering views directly into TQL Stadium. Beyond watching, The Pitch hosts a 3v3 soccer league and cornhole tournaments, building community beyond the screen.
